Empty Bowls Houston 2008

The Empty Bowls Event is an effort by the craft and art community, Houston Food Bank,
Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Lawndale Art Center, and Whole Foods Market
to provide food for the hungry in the community.
Hundreds of local artists and craftspeople donated to the 2007 event,
and more than a thousand Houstonians purchased bowls, contributing more than $35,000
to help feed the hungry in Houston and neighboring counties and communities.
The event is held at two neighboring Museum District museums:

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft,
4848 Main Street

Lawndale Art Center,
4912 Main Street

Live music and live demonstrations by potters, woodturners, blacksmiths and more!
