Prizes: All accepted entries will be eligible for 1st place, “Purchase Award” and 2nd Place, “Memorial Award” (also a purchase award). The winning work will be featured on TEA+ART and C.A.M.E.O. websites during the month. Cash Awards are: $1,000 for 1st place, “Purchase Award” and $500 for 2nd place, “Memorial Award”. The Memorial Award this year is in honor of Both winning teapots will be added to CAMEO’s permanent museum collection.

[TEA+ART] Studio is Houston’s premier Ceramic Arts gallery located in the Historic Heights District in Houston, Texas.

Eligibility and Media: All submitted work must be original, represent teapots, either functional or sculptural and be completed within the last 2 years. This exhibit is open to all artists who work in clay. Each piece must be at least 60% fired clay, weigh no more than 25 lbs and be no larger than 24” in any direction. The $45 CAMEO membership/entry fee entitles each artist to submit a maximum of 2 teapots. Wall work is allowed. Overseas entries are encouraged.

Digital Images: CDs and emailed images (info@18handsgallery.com) will be accepted for review. JPEG format images should be at least 300 dpi. Please do not send other graphics formats. Enter one image per work unless more than one view is necessary for detail work ( maximum of two images per piece.) By entering the “Texas Teapot Tournament” and submitting images, the artist gives TEA+ART permission to use the those images for publicity purposes for the “Texas Teapot Tournament.” Accepted artists will be required to submit an artist statemen and biography. Any work that differs appreciably from the submitted images will be allowed or rejected at the discretion of the reviewing committee.

Shipping and Sales

Texas Teapot Tournament Sales

All pieces must be for sale. The commission rate is 50%. All entries must quote retail price. By entering “Texas Teapot Tournament” and submitting images, each artist gives the organizers permission to use the submitted CD or digital images for publicity purposes for “Texas Teapot Tournament”.

Shipping

Accepted work may be hand delivered (appointment required) or shipped (prepaid) to arrive between December 18 – January 2. Pack items tightly and double box to avoid breakage. Ship all items with prepaid return shipping. Items without prepaid shipping will not be returned. Hand delivered work not picked up by February 15, 2016 will become property of CAMEO. Overseas entrants should contact TEA+ART Studios prior to shipping regarding insurance/customs.
