Congregation Beth Israel is the oldest Jewish congregation in Texas.  The Margolis Gallery housed within the temple, is known for exhibits of both local and national artists.  The purpose of the gallery is to forge a deeper connection between Judaism and the cultural and fine arts.

MENORAH-   nine branch candelabra; eight of the candle holders are for the eight candles which represent the eight miracle days in Hanukkah (a celebration of miracles and light). The ninth arm is for the candle used to light the others.
